The Ugly Twin of Enlightenment
There is much to be understood about the human side and the divine side of your being. Grasping this distinction is the key to freeing yourself from the complications surrounding trauma, emotional upheaval, and the struggles that seem to repeat in your life.
First, no matter how much access you gain to your divine side—no matter how much you expand your light, evolve, or illuminate—you will always have a human side. And that human side will always be with you, like a difficult, stubborn, and often chaotic twin. When left unchecked, this twin wreaks havoc—disrupting your emotions, influencing how you speak about yourself, and impacting how you experience and shape the world around you.
Right now, your human side is limited. It can only grow so much within its current framework. It complicates everything, looping endlessly through its wounds, attempting to fix, heal, and rewrite past pains. But trauma, like a physical scar, does not simply disappear. Over time, it may fade, but it will always remain a part of your story and your energy field. It can still be triggered. It can still ache. Healing is not about erasing it—it’s about understanding how to live with it.
The Expansion of the Divine Self
The divine side, however, is limitless. It continues to expand, evolve, and radiate light in ways the human side cannot comprehend. The more time you spend anchored in your divine essence—the more you learn how to operate from that space—the more your life transforms. Not just for yourself, but for everyone around you. This is where true change happens. Your task is not to endlessly repair the human side, trying to undo the past. Instead, accept it. Protect it. Understand that wounds do not need to be revisited over and over—they need space to exist without defining you.
Your responsibility is to keep yourself out of environments and situations that mirror the ones that caused your trauma in the first place. There is so much you can do to protect yourself, to love yourself more, to support yourself so that the difficult parts of being a human aren’t ruling you—because when they are, the human side takes over, forgets its divinity, and starts wreaking havoc in your life.
Energetic Sensitivity and Thought as Invitation
When you’re in your divine state, you’re acutely aware of how everything affects your energetic field. You feel it deeply. You become exceptionally protective of it because you understand how important it is—not just for yourself, but for your ability to do your work, for those around you, for your own sense of love, enjoyment, and compassion. You don’t want that dampened.
When you think of someone or someplace whose energy is not aligned with yours—whether it is lower, discordant, or simply not complementary—you feel it. It registers in your body abd energy field. You become uncomfortable, unsettled, and out of balance. And the moment you realise this, you know what you need to do. You must stop thinking about them. Thinking about them brings their energy into your field—instantly. Your focus is the bridge. Your thoughts are the invitation.
That doesn’t mean pushing against it or trying to fight it. It simply means: stop thinking about them. Stop calling that energy in. Let it go. To remain in your divine space, you must choose wisely what you allow into your field. Not with force, not with resistance, but simply by shifting your attention away. Because what you do not feed, cannot grow. And that is your power. and CHOICE

Divine Simplicity vs. Human Complexity
When you think of your past, when you allow yourself to revisit it, when you scroll through social media and are suddenly bombarded with millions of energies—not just one person, but an overwhelming flood of connections—you feel it. Deeply. When you are in your divine side, this feels dreadful. It weighs on you. It pulls at your energy, leaving you drained, uneasy, and unwell. But when you are in your human side, you are addicted to it.
Your human side craves attention, admiration, entertainment, affection, affirmation. It is needy in a way that can never truly be satisfied. And while social media does not genuinely provide what it seeks, it functions like a drug—giving you just enough of a hit to keep you chasing that high.
When you are in your divinity, however, you see it for what it is. You feel sick even looking at your phone, sometimes even just holding it, because you can sense the sheer weight of information, the energetic imprints, the entanglement of thousands, even millions of frequencies stored within it.
"Divinity embraces simplicity".
It understands that the most profound truth, wisdom, and peace exist in simplicity. The divine tapestry is simple. It is elegant, uncluttered, fluid. Your human side, however, demands complexity. It thrives on problems to solve, dramas to engage with, distractions to feed its endless hunger.
Why the Human Self Feels Broken
Your human side is an old program—outdated, clunky, running on software that desperately needs an update. But that update? It isn’t available yet. You are driving an ancient vehicle with outdated wiring, trying to integrate a highly sophisticated, next-generation operating system. And so, we wait for the update. In the meantime, we adjust. We protect our energy. We simplify. We listen to the signals and choose wisely where we direct our focus, and make our next step, always preferring to be in flow and a functional bliss.
Many people are convinced that an upgrade is coming—that we are transitioning into a crystalline body, or some kind of new energetic structure. But here’s the truth: I don’t know. And neither does anyone else. The best thing we can do for ourselves is to release all assumptions. The moment you say, “I know nothing. I am open. I trust the universe to bring me what is truly meant for me,” you create space for everything. Whatever upgrade we might receive, it’s important not to limit yourself by declaring it must be a crystalline body — you might unknowingly block what’s trying to come in, slowly, piece by piece.
When Light Brings Out the Shadows
What I’ve noticed lately—and it’s something that really hasn’t made much sense until now—is that for quite a few of us who have been engaging in seriously advanced energy work, within 24 to 48 hours of that work, people are suddenly going into their human self. But not just their human self—their most undesirable side. I’m talking about qualities that are socially difficult, even repugnant. Things like competitiveness, messiah or guru complexes, the need to be an expert or centre of attention, gossip, anger, paranoia, or playing the victim—really uncomfortable and messy behaviours. A few of us have actually been talking about this, trying to understand what it is, because it’s awful. You experience something profoundly advanced and beautiful, and then find yourself in an emotionally reactive place afterwards, sometimes even arguing with others.
What I’m starting to realise is that the more light you bring in—the more advanced you are energetically—the more it’s going to affect your divine self and your human self. When you’re in divine energy, when you’re in that balance, you feel incredible. Life looks beautiful. But that energy doesn’t just stay in your spiritual body—it impacts your entire being. And in order for your human self and physical life to catch up, all of your “undesirables”—your blockages, your heaviness, all the things that stop the energy from flowing—begin to rise to the surface. Think of it simply as energy—not behaviour, not personality, not psychology. Just energy being brought to light for release and transmutation.
The Messy Human Translation
So, all of this light, this beautiful energy, brings everything up—not to punish or destabilise you—but because it has to be dealt with for your life to evolve. It’s a phase of transition, part of the process of integrating divine light into every layer of your being. Your divine side will want to improve your human experience. It’s not personal, and it’s not about thought or intellect—it’s purely energetic. And something else I’ve noticed, which is deeply relevant, is that people are flocking into groups where their energy is matched. This has been happening for a while now. We’re not even consciously realising it—it’s just happening. Our light is more powerful when it’s combined, and we’re being drawn magnetically to those we are meant to co-create and amplify with.
"Energetically, this group alignment is magnificent—but in human form, it can look messy".
It can result in conflict, exclusion, gossip, judgement, and really uncomfortable experiences. What I was recently told is this: ignore that noise. There’s no lesson in it. Don’t overanalyse it. It’s just energy moving around. From an energetic view, it’s all flow. From a human view, it can appear ugly. But that ugliness doesn’t mean anything significant—it’s just how the movement of energy is translated in our physical experience. So take your grip off, don’t hold tightly to these perceptions, and allow everything to move. Energy is simply attracting energy. Your groups will come, and they may be many, because the power in matched unity is extraordinary.

The Rush to 5D: Why Slowing Down Might Be the Most Evolved Choice of All
A conversation with a friend recently reminded me of something I've witnessed often, and it feels important to include it here. It’s the tendency we’re seeing — individually and collectively — to rush spiritual evolution. Many people are working so diligently on expanding their light, raising their frequency, and aligning with what’s often called the “5D reality,” but in the process, there's a very real risk of bypassing the necessary integration.
What happens when we move too fast is that our systems can’t keep up. Much like undergoing surgery, each energetic upgrade or expansion requires a period of recovery. Can you imagine having major surgery every week without proper healing time in between? Your body wouldn’t be able to adjust. And yet, spiritually, this is what many people are unintentionally doing. They’re pushing their systems into a state of constant purging and receiving, purging and receiving, without offering space to settle, recalibrate, and embody what’s been received.
This rush can lead to agitation, emotional instability, victimhood, frustration, and even confusion. Rather than feeling more aligned or elevated, people often feel like they’re driving down a foggy, chaotic road with no clear direction. There’s a sense of needing to get somewhere — but the path isn’t clear, and so it becomes a struggle rather than a sacred unfolding.
But what if the path forward isn’t about moving at all?
What if the most aligned thing we can do is to stop, breathe, and simply be — trusting that everything is recalibrating around us? There’s a quiet power in stillness. In allowing. In trusting that you haven’t missed the portal, you haven’t been left behind, and you’re not “doing it wrong.”
We're all here on the same planet. Nobody’s skipping ahead into some exclusive dimension while others are left behind. We’re all in a collective process of adjustment, and it’s going to take more time than we might like. And that’s okay.
There’s no reward for rushing. In fact, the deepest wisdom and alignment come when we stop sprinting toward the light and instead become still enough to receive it.
Divine Downloads vs Human Behaviour
This brings me to another really important point. So many people have said, “Why, at this level of spiritual advancement, are we seeing such ugliness in people’s human behaviour?” What has become so clear is that when someone is in their divine self—when they are channeling, receiving downloads, speaking from source—that is pure. It cannot be tainted. But then you see their earthly behaviours, and it’s jarring. It makes you wonder: can I trust this person’s spiritual insight when their human output feels so off? The answer is yes. Because the divine is still divine. Even the most spiritually advanced person can still have a very human, and sometimes very offensive or distasteful, side.
Human Conversations, Divine Conversations
If you're having a regular, everyday conversation with someone, you're most likely going to be engaging with their human self. I’ve had people say to me, “I didn’t expect you to say that,” or “That doesn’t sound like someone doing the work you’re doing.” And I just smile, because I know what’s happening. They’re talking to my human self. And yes, I’ve evolved—but I’m still human. If the conversation draws on my divine self, you’re going to experience someone very different. That doesn’t mean either self is wrong. It means they’re both real.
People often label this contrast as ‘ego’, but to me it’s more complex than that. Ego is definitely a component, but what I’m really talking about is the interplay between two different selves—perhaps a simple explanation is to refer to the higher mind and the lower mind. They are distinct but connected. And I believe we need to be having more of these conversations, because they help us realise where we may have misunderstood how this all works. We can begin to detach from judgement, stop taking things personally, and recognise energy for what it is.
When you can see it through this lens, you relax. You no longer feel the need to fix everything or make sense of everyone’s behaviour. You start to discern clearly: what needs healing, what deserves your attention, and what simply needs to be let go. And you remember—it’s all just energy, finding its way through, around or away from you.
Spirituality in the Real World
This is where people often get confused. They compare themselves to monks, Buddhists, or others living in spiritual sanctuaries—often in beautiful, nature-rich environments, with simple routines, minimal distractions, and their basic needs fully met. While I haven’t personally lived in one of these spaces, I imagine the greatest challenge of their day might be dealing with the occasional frustration of others or the emotional toll of living in a confined, structured environment. But for the most part, their day is centred around worship, devotion, meditation and reflection—an environment that supports remaining in their Divine Self for long stretches. In contrast, many of us walking an accelerated spiritual path are doing so while still fully immersed in modern life—raising children, working jobs, dealing with financial pressure, managing trauma, navigating dense city environments, or facing health issues. We are not compartmentalising our spirituality—it is our life, our lens, all day, every day—but we are doing it in the middle of modern stressors. And while I dream of one day living in a co-op-style, community-based setting closer to nature (something that’s just not possible for me right now), I acknowledge that the environment makes a massive difference.
When you’re surrounded by pressure, noise, and demands, it becomes nearly impossible to sustain a Divine state at all times. And honestly, I’m not sure the human body could even hold that constantly—it may not be physically sustainable. Perhaps this is why we keep shifting between the two selves. Maybe it’s not a flaw, but a necessity. As our physical bodies cannot yet withstand sustaining large volumes of light, the breaks and cool-downs in human form are necessary. As we acclimate, and as the body and mind adjust to that light, we begin to stay in that state for longer—much like a diver must slowly practise reaching new depths and always return at some stage to decompress. This rhythm of ascent and descent is known as our Merkabah. Even with the best energetic support, you must still come up for air. Once you develop an appreciation for the dysfunction of the human self, you can begin to take active steps to monitor and redirect some of its more ridiculous thoughts and behaviours. Growth follows—but it takes time, effort, and awareness. The more we practise this, the closer we get to meeting our Divine Self more often. But please, don’t be hard on yourself for being human. You’d be shocked at the comments and behaviours I’ve witnessed from some of the most spiritually advanced people I’ve met over the past 20 years.

Responding from Divinity, Even When Triggered
Another important piece to consider is that those of us living spiritual lives in modern society are simply being triggered more often. And when we're triggered, most people—myself included—will naturally revert back to the human self. Perhaps more of a survivial instinct rather than problem solving capabilities. That’s the default. But learning not to do that, learning to remain in divine awareness even when confronted or challenged, that is part of the growth. That is part of the learning curve we’re all navigating together. We may not always get it right, but the practice of trying to respond from the Divine Self—that’s where the evolution happens.
So if you love someone’s sacred work—their divine work, their teachings or offerings—but struggle with their human behaviour, don’t be hard on yourself. And don’t be hard on them either. You can still respect their divine contributions while choosing not to be close to them personally. You’re allowed to admire the work and still maintain healthy boundaries. Sometimes we meet a spiritual teacher, love what they bring through, and then hear them speak in a casual moment and think, “Oh gosh... what a letdown.” That’s normal. That’s human. And it doesn’t invalidate the divine message.
Everyone on this planet has a beautiful Divine Self. You might not resonate with their human self—and that’s okay. For some, their human self seems to be a work in progress. For others, there might be no visible progress at all. But that’s not for us to carry. It’s not our work to fix. What matters is how we meet them: with clarity, discernment, and compassion for both aspects.
The Sacred Slow Unfolding
Many of us held a quiet hope — that as the Earth’s frequency rose, we would naturally rise with it. That simply existing within this upgraded environment would be enough to shift us into a more divine state of being. And so we waited. We worked. We cleared. We let go. We hoped things would feel lighter on the other side. I know I did — even delaying things in my life, trusting that conditions would align more easily in this new energy.
But what we’re discovering is something different. Yes, the energetic “office” around us has been renovated — it’s stunning, elevated, and ready for higher function. But we’re still operating on old hardware. Our body, our system, our wiring — it's the clunky computer with no camera, no capacity yet to fully see or receive what’s available. And when we try to run high-frequency programs on an outdated system, things start to glitch. They purge. They overheat. They misfire. And they bring up everything that no longer works — every faulty setting, every corrupted file, every outdated part.
That’s what we’re in now. A massive, sacred upgrade. And it’s slow for a reason.
Unless we finally face the most dysfunctional parts of ourselves — the parts that trip us up, sabotage our joy, cause harm to ourselves or others — unless we come to a place where we can acknowledge them, accept them, and respond differently, we simply can’t evolve. Not sustainably. Not truly. The environment can be divine, but without a system that can receive and hold that divinity, nothing will change.
This is not about rushing. This is not a race. This is about learning to walk the tightrope without being thrown off course every time something arises. It’s about bridging the gap between our human self and our divine self — learning to hold more light, more often, and for longer. That takes time. That takes awareness. And it takes community.
We are so much stronger together. And I truly believe we’ll navigate this as a collective — supporting one another to work through the fog, the confusion, the discomfort, and the density. Together, we will begin to see and embody new ways of being. Slowly, gently, steadily — we will upgrade. And in time, we will receive the camera, the new casing, the upgraded high-resolution screen, the internal wiring, and the better fan to keep us cool as we hold more light. All of these new parts — these essential pieces of our new operating system — will begin to come online. But they must arrive slowly, with care, because we are, in many ways, an antique system — fragile, sensitive, and not yet built to handle the full force of what’s coming. These upgrades are sacred, and they require precision. Time. Integration. Support.

Healing the Whole by Healing the Self
As we come together and amplify the light, we simultaneously illuminate the outdated parts—both within ourselves and within the collective—that are still waiting to be released. When one of us does the work, it sends a ripple. It’s like pulling a single thread—and then the entire fabric begins to unravel for everyone.
That’s why it feels so intense sometimes, especially for those of us who’ve already done so much. The truth is: you’re not just healing yourself anymore. You’re pulling the collective thread. You're helping to release what's stuck in the broader field, building a new energetic blueprint that allows all of us to actually live in the light more fully—and stay there longer.
And yes, it’s exhausting. I feel it too. Sometimes it’s the very last thing I want to do. But it’s crucial. It’s time. Not in a rushed, pressure-filled way—but in the sense that we can’t put it off. We take it bit by bit. Piece by piece.
And when we do? We start to notice something extraordinary. As soon as a shift happens within, the world around us responds. Themes echo through the collective. Doors open. Systems begin to adjust. What we clear in ourselves makes way for change on a much larger scale—not just for humans, but for the entire living environment we’re part of.
We are at the forefront of this. Not because we’re special—but because we’re strong. And because we said yes. This is the role we chose. It’s massive. It’s sacred. And we can do it.
We just have to keep going—remembering that every time we embody more light, more will rise to the surface to be transformed. That’s not failure. That’s progress. We are moving toward something. We may not know exactly what it is—no one really does—and perhaps we’re not meant to know yet. That kind of clarity might only distract us from what we need to face right now.
So we stay present. We do the work in front of us. We listen. We honour the process. And in doing so, we become a beacon—a living guidepost helping others find their way through the fog, so they too can rise and begin reshaping their world.
One layer at a time. One system at a time. Together.
I’ve been working on this article for a long time. It hasn’t felt quite right to share until now. And even as I write this, I know more is coming. This isn’t the final piece. There’s still more to understand, and as more insight comes through, I’ll keep sharing. I’d love to hear what others think and how you’ve experienced the tension between the human and divine self in your own life. Because this conversation is one we’re all part of.
