The March Equinox marked the conception of this new light and the beginning of a new phase we’re stepping into. Since then, we’ve been in a gestation period—growing it, holding it, letting it build within us. But now, as we move toward the September Equinox, we’ve entered the labour phase.

That’s why so many are feeling these waves of intense contraction—sometimes hitting every few days. It’s been exhausting, painful, and emotional. These contractions push everything to the surface, forcing us to confront what has been quietly accumulating beneath our awareness.

So, what exactly are these contractions? What is happening during this birth process, and why does it feel so relentless? Most importantly, there is an opportunity within this intensity. How we move through this period will determine how much light we can hold on the other side.

These contractions aren’t just discomfort—they are invitations. If you soften into them rather than resist, you begin to see what’s truly unfolding. What feels so hard, so relentless, is bringing to the surface exactly what you most need to face right now. Whether it’s your health, relationships—not necessarily an intimate one but any connection that has become unsustainable—a work situation, or a life decision, the issue causing the most excruciating grievance is pointing directly to what needs to be addressed, released, or resolved to move forward.

This is not something that can be bypassed. You can’t take a pill for it, meditate it away, or sound-bath it out of your system. Those practices can offer support, but the real work requires direct engagement. It’s not about a long, complicated healing process. It’s simpler than that. It’s about noticing: “Okay, this exists. It’s here.” Then deciding: Do I release it? Do I cut it out? Do I leave it behind? Do I accept it? Do I mend it?

These are big, hard decisions. But the moment you stop fighting and see this as an opportunity to clear the heaviest parts of your life, you create the space to move into the light on the other side of this Equinox.

To illustrate, I’ve been dealing with chronic migraines. Sometimes medication works; sometimes it doesn’t. When it doesn’t, I’ve learned to stop pushing through, clear my day, make space, and let it move through me. It’s excruciating, but afterward I feel lighter—something shifts. This is what this time is about: making space.

We’re being called to service right now—to give, to help, to support others without expecting anything in return. But we are also being called to support ourselves. Don’t overcomplicate your life. Simplify it. Make time for growth. Learn how to flood yourself with light, bring your own energy back to you, and continually clear out what doesn’t belong. That is your survival guide.

Do the hard yards now. It’s worth it. What’s coming on the other side of this Equinox is massive, and the amount of light you’ll be able to hold will depend entirely on the space you’re willing to create now.
