Beyond the Workshop: Living the Practice of Pellowah & Umana

There is something I’ve been sitting with deeply over the past little while, and it feels important to put into words. Both Pellowah and Umana continue to reveal themselves in ways that are far beyond what can be explained in a single description or even a single training. These are not static modalities. They are living experiences. They unfold over time, through practice, through application, and through real life.

You don’t need to already be a practitioner to begin, in fact, many people are drawn to this work because of the simple, human desire to support the people, animals, and moments that matter most in their lives. This might be your children. Your friends. Your family. Your animals. Or those who are transitioning from this life. In that simplicity, something very profound opens.

Recently, through Conscious Exchange Victoria, I made the decision to offer sessions more widely. That decision has led me to experiences that have deeply reignited my inspiration and joy for this work. I have now had the opportunity to work with a bunny, many dogs and cats, and even a horse, and each experience has reminded me just how responsive and intelligent animals are to this energy.

There is something incredibly moving about witnessing the shift in an animal. It is subtle, but unmistakable. A softening. A settling. A change in presence and nervous system state that feels deeply supportive to their wellbeing. These experiences have only strengthened my passion for Pellowah and its application with animals.

One of the most meaningful parts of this journey for me has also been exploring how Pellowah supports people who are transitioning from this life. Earlier this year, I offered a talk on how Pellowah can support an individual in the process of passing and in the three days that follow. I had the opportunity to go deeply into this work with Kachina Ma'an, and it opened something in me that I didn’t expect.

There is so much more to this modality than what can be seen on the surface. It continues to unfold the more I work with it, and the more I witness its effects in different contexts.

Umana holds a different but equally expansive space. With Umana, what I find most powerful is the way it works with consciousness and awareness in everyday life. It supports a gradual but very real shift in perception. It becomes easier to see where conditioning, belief systems, and emotional patterns are influencing your choices, often without you realising. From that place of awareness, something begins to change. Life starts to reorganise itself. Not all at once, but step by step. There is a growing sense of alignment with what feels true, rather than what has simply been inherited or expected.

I experienced this myself in a very tangible way when I did Umana on Alaska before I travelled there. There was a sense of connection that formed beforehand, a feeling of attunement to the land, the culture, and the country. When I arrived, that connection felt alive in a way that shaped the entire experience. The trip unfolded in a way that felt deeply aligned, almost as if the consciousness of the land itself had already been met in some way.

These are the kinds of experiences that cannot be fully understood in theory. They are discovered through lived experience over time and this is something I really want to emphasise. You cannot learn everything about these modalities in a single day. It is too much, and it is not the point. What you learn in the workshop is the foundation, the attunement, the entry point. What unfolds after that is personal. It is shaped by your own interests, your own life, and the way you choose to work with it.

Every student brings something different. Some are drawn to working with children. Others feel called to animals. Some are interested in supporting people in aged care environments. Others feel a strong pull toward end of life care and supporting those transitioning. Others are simply seeking personal clarity, growth, and alignment in their own lives.

What I love most is that there is no single way this has to look. The modality meets you where you are, and then expands with you. Over time, I have developed my own areas of focus through direct experience. I have worked deeply with animals, and I would like to continue expanding this. I have explored supporting people in transition, and I have worked with land and country on a broader scale. Each of these areas has revealed something different about what is possible.

Because of this, I am also beginning to open up something new for my students. I will be offering monthly opportunities for connection, where we can come together, share experiences, receive further attunements, and continue to grow within this work. These gatherings will allow for deeper immersion, ongoing support, and shared learning. There is something very powerful about continuing to stay connected as a community, rather than learning something and then moving away from it.

For those who are in regions where I cannot be regularly present, I encourage continued connection with each other. Group practice, session swaps, shared experience. And when I am in those areas, we can come together in person for deeper sessions and group work.

This ongoing relationship with students is something I value deeply. I am interested in witnessing how this unfolds over time in real lives, and supporting people as they grow with it. It is genuinely one of the most rewarding parts of this work for me.

Upcoming trainings are currently planned for Somerville in Victoria in May, Caulfield in Victoria in June, Tasmania in July and Perth in August. I am also exploring additional locations, including Davenport in Northern Tasmania, Denmark in Western Australia, and both the North and South Islands of New Zealand.

Some of these locations will depend on numbers, so if you are feeling called to this work and are in one of these areas, now is the time to reach out. It would be an honour to support you in learning these modalities and to walk alongside you as you begin to explore what they open within your life.
